Mafia Wars has grown as the most played game on the internet, evidence being Zynga, which recently claimed to have over 5 million active users everyday. Another fact is that not more 10000 of them really how to manage energy levels for highest efficiency.

For any type of character, Energy is the blood and bone for advancing in the game. Energy is a valuable component and a player gets one only point every 5 minutes until he clears the New York level. Wasting time in waiting for energy replenishment is the most common mistake people make. Rather one should strategize in such a way that he never runs out of it. Here are a few tips:

Character

The easiest way to be energy rich in Mafia Wars is to pick the Maniac character. It replenishes energy twice as fast as any other character.

Right Timing

Before you level up, eat up all the energy points you can. Many players make the mistake of using energy at level up stage, which is a bad idea. It is like wasting a bunch of usable points when you're already full of energy. So exploit your energy points on jobs that demand more energy when you're near to upgrading to the next level.

Energy Calculator

Energy calculators are internet tools made in simple javascript applets, that lets you find out the experience provided by each job, so that one can segregate higher value jobs from lower value jobs and intermix good jobs to maximize the ability to enhance the level of Mafia, while still getting the consumable items you always needed at every step. For example, if the energy calculator tells you that a particular job will give an experience of 1.235, all you need to do is compare and complete the jobs available to reach that level.

Right Strategy

Another source of energy is through energy packs given by family members. Such energy packs bring about a 25% change in energy of the user. When these are used, the player gets an option to forward the energy pack to mafias in their family. So to keep a running flow of energy packs, one should send them whenever possible.

If this vicious circle hasn't yet started in your mafia yet, post on your wall asking friends to send you energy packs. Though such packs are automatically provided as well, which come after every fixed period of time, they exhaust pretty fast. A player can check the time left in next energy update at his home page, but if this options isn't there, ask your friends for help.

Skill points can also provide energy. When a player earns a skill point, it can be used to upgrade energy levels and can be quite beneficial for players, who are beginners, as it increase the attack and defense powers and avoid hammering by bigger mafias.
