Make Kinah with the Trade Broker Bulk Buying System

The most basic tactic to use on the Aion Trade Broker is to buy low and sell high. This is somewhat obvious, but what is not so obvious is finding out what is selling at a bargin price. One method of doing so would be to keep a history of prices, but this is a long and cumbersome process, and can take a while to accumulate all the required information.

Sorting by Columns

The Aion Trade Broker has a great feature where you can sort the items by column. For example, if you search for Ruko Fibre, the display will initially display the results by lowest price first. Clicking on another item column will then sort the items by that particular column.

This feature is very important for the Bulk Buying System. Note that system works best with crafting materials. Crafters always need a ready source of materials, and are willing to buy them to help progress their crafting levels quickly.

The following steps shows how the Bulk Buying System it works.

Step 1 Find Lowest Price

You need to find the lowest price for your item first. So do a search on the broker and note down the cheapest price. Since we are concentrating on crafting materials, they are usually found in quantities of 5 or more.

When you have found the lowest priced item, make a note of the unit price, which is the price per item. So for example if you have found Ruko Fibre in quantities of 5 priced at 3000, the price per item is 600.

Step 2 Buy at the Lowest Unit Price

You now need to find someone selling the same item in bulk, say 30 or more, but at a cheaper cost per item, than the one noted in step 1. This is easy with the Aion Trade Broker, since you can sort by unit price.

The bulk unit price can vary from 10 to 50 percent, and is usually cheaper for the larger quantities. Buy the largest quantity at cheapest unit priced that you can afford. Using the Ruko Fibre example, this could be 60 fibres at 300 unit price each, which would be listed at 18000 Kinah.

Step 3 The Undercut

Now you should have a large quantity of material bought at a low unit price. Going back to step 1, we noted the cheapest price and quantity of the material. For the Ruko Fibre example at 600 unit price.

Since you bought your materials at a much lower unit price you can easily undercut the competition at the top of the results, when displayed by price. You only have to be at the top of the list, so do not undercut by a large margin.

Enjoy the profits

For our example, you would sell at 2900, undercutting the cheapest price by 100. Since you will be listing multiple items at this price, your offers will be the first items for sale that buyers will see, making a quick sale.


As for the profit you will be making, here are the figures for the Ruko Fibre example.

Bought 60 fibres for 18000 kinah
Bought at unit price of 300 kinah
cost of 5 fibres 1500 Kinah

Sold 5 fibres for 2900 Kinah
profit for 5 fibres 1400 inah

profit for all stock (60 fibres) 34800
Total profit 16800 kinah

Make a Mule

Using this method, the turnaround will be quick, since your items will always be displayed on the first page at the top. On a busy night you'll be going to the broker a lot.

To save yourself the hassle of going back and forth to the broker, as your leveling, it is worthwhile investing some time creating a mule. This is another character created just for the purpose of operating the auction house. Though remember forAion, your character needs to get to level 10 before it can access the Trade Broker.
