Quick Aion Tip For Beginners
Here are some quick short tips to help those starting out in Aion.
Titles in Aion actually more than just titles as they also give you extra stats. So make sure you finish the appropriate quest line to gain the title. You can see the quest lines in your character profile window.
Use power shards on tough mobs. They add extra damage to your attacks, but can be expensive, especially in the the earlier levels. So do not waste them needless, but save them for the harder quest or dungeon bosses. You can activate them in combat as well.
Do not try to swim in Aion. You end up just walking underwater and drowning, especially if you took the plunge in to a deep valley, where there is no place to climb out.
Learn to harvest early on. Certain quests require you to harvest materials, and you also gain experience from harvesting. So that's experience from the quest and experience from the actual harvesting. Experience that you should not miss out on.
If you are used to the wow UI, i.e. radar on top right, etc, you can change the UI layout in the option menu. This should make your introduction to Aion easier if your a World of Warcraft veteran.
On the topic of radar, be careful when using it, as it only has a 120-degree forward facing arc, so you may miss something right behind you. Doing a 360 turn you should help you keep a lookout for danger and find quest mobs.
You do not have to be level 10 to ascend. You can do the quest at 9, and gain a full level to 10. So do the ascension quest as soon as the NPC allows you to. You can always port back to the starter area to complete the quests, with better equipment and skills.
You will find a lot of manstones from mobs in the starter zones. These can be added to green level equipment to increase certain stats, but not all stats will be useful for you. But rather than sells unwanted manastones to vendor for a low price, trade them with others for a useful one. You should find lots of players willing to trade at the starter towns.
If you are planning to create multiple characters on your account for mules and trading, note that they have to be level 10 before you can port out of the starter zone.
There are no bags in Aion, just cubes. The first town you go to in Aion will have a cube expander for a relatively cheap price. So expand your cube as you will not be able to go to a bank vault until level 10, and you will need to pick up and sell as much as you can when starting out.
