Open Letter From Dugi
Editor's Note: The following was posted as in on Dugi's Forums This is an open letter for to address any question regarding Zygor's Claim of being the only guide that complies with Blizzard's Addon Policy and also the Dugi's leveling guide comparison report and performance chart that they have showed on their website. Since Zygor does not have the courage to reply any of my emails to address this matter, then I feel that it is only fair for you to hear our side of the story in here. A couple of weeks ago Zygor have relaunched their website with a new Sales page. On their new sale page and their sale video they stated
Obviously these statements is have a negative effect on our image at ultimatewowguide. While we can accept that a competing site market themselves as the best, we can't accept false representation of our product.
Our Response Regarding Addon PolicyDugi's Guide is a free addon that have always been free even before this new policy, and we provide guides to supplement the addon. Zygors new method of Distribution is no different than ours, they have in-fact copied our solution of providing the addon for free with the free trial method. This took them over 6 months to do when the policy deadline for all addon authors to comply was May 19th and they have only recently done this 2 weeks ago. So in their own words, this means they have put their own customers at risk of getting 'Banned' for over 6 months. Let me clear this up that this is simply Zygor's scare tactic into buying their overpriced guide. No one will ever get Banned for using our leveling guide, there's no proof or statement anywhere that this could happen to anyone. Blizzard will disable the addon and the author of the addon will be the one responsible. Zygor does not have the authority to determined whether their or other guides complies with this new policy unless they are themselves Blizzard Entertainment or have a written statement or permission from Blizzard Entertainment themselves. Without this as far we know Zygor guides doesn't comply with the policy, and they are not in the position to judge whether other guides complies or not. Regarding Guide Performance ChartWe requested Zygor to please provide proof of the results that they have found, product testing should have been documented with day to day screenshots and videos. If Zygor is unable to produce these proof of results, then it is only fair that they remove the result from their sales page. There are many variables regarding the leveling guide performance that can affect the outcome so a 100% fair and unbiased result is extremely hard to achieve. A fair proof of result testing would have to consist of same character, same server, same equiptment, same faction, resting experiences and the list will go on and on. So far Zygor have ignored our request, we can only assumed that it is fake. The In-Game Talent GuideEverybody knows that we released an in-game talent guide 8 months ago, and Zygor have only released it a few weeks ago. Doesn't matter who was first, but we do provide an easy to use in-game leveling talent guide. Again I'd like to point out that their comparison chart is incorrect. We respected Zygor in the past as the standard for in-game leveling guide, but I urge you to think twice about them. They market themselves as an honest family business with great support (we're the same here in ultimatewowguide.com Jess the forum admin is infact my sister) but they deceive the public with false information, scare tactics and pay little to no respect other Warcraft guide authors. Its sad that they think this is the best way to make a sale. We have always made efforts to work together with zygor but as always we were ignored. I will update this letter, if I ever hear a response from Zygor. Regards
